Alicia Machado (real name Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo) was born December 6, 1976 in Venezuela. She rose to international fame when she won the Miss Universe title in 1996, becoming the fourth woman from Venezuela to score the honor. She later developed a career as an actress by starring in the 1998 telenovela ‘Samantha’ in the role of the title character. In 2006, she became the first Miss Universe to pose nude for Playboy which she did once again for the Mexican version of the popular men’s magazine in July 2010.
She drew attention one again in 2015 after making accusations about President Donald Trump who oversaw the Miss Universe pageant during her reign. Alicia accused him of calling her ‘Miss Piggy’ because she gained weight and “Miss Housekeeping” because of her Hispanic background. His spokesperson denied that he made those comments and she eventually supported Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential campaign.
