Victoria Lee has sadly died at age 18 on December 26, 2022. The rising MMA star’s cause of death hasn’t been revealed, but her family shared the sad news in an emotional statement. Victoria has received numerous tributes from fans and across the MMA world. Find out more about Victoria here.
1. Victoria’s sister announced her passing in an emotional post
Victoria’s older sister Angela shared a moving tribute to her younger sister to announce her passing on Instagram on Saturday, January 7. She wrote about how much everything reminds the family of Victoria and reminded followers to check in on their loved ones. “She has gone too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then. We miss her. More than anything in this world. Our family will never be the same. Life will never be the same,” she wrote. “We miss you so much sis. More than you could ever realize. We’re all broken. Because a piece of you was in each of us and when you left, those pieces were ripped out of us. We will never be the same.
2. Her siblings are also fighters
Victoria was one of four children, and both her older sister Angela, 26, and brother Christian are MMA fighters. Her younger brother Adrian was also a fighter, and she regularly cheered on her loved ones on her Instagram, celebrating her siblings’ victories in their respective fights.
3. She began fighting in the ONE Championship League at 16
Victoria was notably the youngest fighter to participate in the Singaporean promotion One Championship when she joined in September 2020. She had her first fight in February 2021, and she won her three matches in the atomweight division. She had one win by knockout and two by submission.
4. She had two nieces
Besides being an amazing fighter, Victoria was also a loving aunt. Her sister Angela had a daughter Ava, and her brother Christian’s wife had a daughter Alia. Both were born in April 2021. Angela wrote about how much both the girls loved their aunt in her tribute to Victoria. “Victoria was the most beautiful soul who ever lived. She was the best little sister in the world. The best daughter, the best granddaughter and the best godma / aunty to Ava and Alia,” she wrote.
5. She was a junior champion in two events
Besides her early debut in the One Championship promotion, Victoria showed off her skills by competing in wrestling competitions, including wrestling and pankration. She was the junior world champion in pankration, which is a wrestling and fighting-like sport, competing for Hawaii in both 2019 and 2020. She was the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation junior world champion in 2019 and state champion in 2020.
