Chechi Sarai takes the stage during the October 2 episode of The Voice and makes a grand entrance into the competition. Her Blind Audition has taken season 24 to a whole new level, and the coaches fight to get Chechi on their teams.

“You’ve set the bar so high for this competition. I can see like a finalist already in you,” Niall, 30, tells Chechi. Reba, 68, adds that Chechi’s “ability to sing is off the charts.” Gwen, 53, admits that she felt like she was “watching a Grammys performance.”
Chechi tells the coaches that she’s currently based in Los Angeles, but she’s originally from Pontiac, Michigan. Her parents are Nigerian immigrants.
Chechi has been a background singer for Kanye West, Lucky Daye, and Deborah Cox, according to her website. She’s also opened as a solo act for international artists like Baby Charm and more.
Chechi dropped her first album, Long Gone, in 2017. She has continued to release new music over the years. Her latest single, “December Rain,” was released in 2022.
“I am an artist and I love to create untraditional music,” she told Shoutout LA in 2021. “When creating songs, I think it’s best to be free and break boundaries.” She also noted that her “love for music” continues to grow. “Writing about hardships is one of the best reliefs as a creative,” she added. “I have learned that what is yours will be yours and you have to trust the process and the gift God gave you. I have learned to not rush things and trust God’s timing. I want the world to know that my story is real and proof that you can do the impossible!”
