UPDATE: Hours after walking away uninjured from a Nov. 23 scary car crash in Oakland, California, Stephen Curry tweeted his relief that he survived. He wrote, “Don’t need any reminders but all the time God is Great and God is Great all the time! Appreciate all the texts.”
ORIGINAL: Stephen Curry, 30, has survived a nasty car crash on a California highway on Nov. 23, according to multiple reports. The Golden State Warriors basketball star was involved in the Black Friday smash on Highway 24 in the early hours of the morning, according to TMZ and ABC 7 News. Although the dad-of-three’s black Porsche was smashed up – thankfully – Steph has walked away unharmed.
The incident occurred when a car spun out in front of the NBA star, hit his vehicle, which was then hit by another car from behind. According to California Highway Patrol no one sustained serious injuries. Rain and the slippery road conditions appear to be a factor in the crash according to the CHP. HollywoodLife has reached out to the CHP and Steph Curry’s rep for comment but we’ve yet to receive a response.
Steph may have suffered no injuries as a result of the crash, but he is not scheduled to join his team as they face off the Portland Trail Blazers on Black Friday. He is currently recovering from a non-related groin injury.

As for the car crash, Steph’s dad Dell Curry assured reporters on the scene that his son is fine. “Just spoke to his dad who is here too,” NBC Bay Area reporter Melissa Colorado tweeted shortly after the crash. “Tells me Steph is doing fine.” The Warriors have also confirmed that the two-time MVP “appears to be OK” after being involved in a “minor accident” according to NBC Sports Bay Area. In fact, he even arrived at a practice session to get treatment for his groin injury.

A day earlier, on Thanksgiving his wife Ayesha Curry, 29, was cooking up a storm at home. The actress – who is also mom to their three children, Riley, 6, Ryan, 3, and Canon, 4 months – shared clips on her Instagram Stories feed of her whipping up a delicious-looking meal. We’re thankful that Steph is safe and well after his scary Black Friday morning!
