Detective Furey was hot on Spencer’s heels during this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, as he closed in on uncovering what really happened to Archer Dunhill. Obviously, Spencer refused to cooperate with the police, but all Detective Furey needed was the credit card receipt with her signature on it. Thanks to Hanna’s connection to The Radley and Caleb’s hacking skills, however, Hanna was able to access the hotel’s receipts before the cops were. She and Caleb couldn’t exactly find the receipt, but they flooded the storage room, which ruined every receipt in the room.
In the meantime, A.D. asked Hanna to deliver some sort of hard drive to the high school. But since she was helping Caleb retrieve the receipt, Emily and Ali went to the school instead, and they were hoping to uncover A.D.’s identity once he or she showed up. Sadly, they just ran into a figure they couldn’t identify — we later learned (thanks to a call to Hanna) that it was actually Mona they ran into.
And while Emily and Ali were at the high school, Aria was busy following A.D.’s orders, which included ransacking Emily and Ali’s newly decorated nursery. She destroyed the room and doused the furniture in blood. It was so gross. Aria ended up at home in tears due to all the guilt she was feeling, but not before Spencer found her earring in the middle of all the destruction. Fortunately, none of this affected Emily and Ali’s relationship — if anything, it brought them closer together. So much so, in fact, that they ended up kissing after Ali finally made a commitment to Emily. They’re going to raise the baby together as a couple!
Lastly, the girls finally confronted Lucas over their suspicions that he’s A.D. Fortunately, he’s not. But he did manage to give the girls some startling information. He was friends with Charles, but had no idea Charles transitioned into Charlotte until after her death. Lucas only maintained his relationship with Charles/Charlotte through email. He also said he kept it all a secret because he may have unknowingly assisted in the torturing of Hanna. Plus, he said there’s a second comic book that he and Charles made — one that inspired A.D.’s vicious board game. Oh, and Hanna’s fashion career is kaput — Lucas lost all his money by investing in her, as no other investors were interested.
