First, Riley Elmore, 16, completely wowed the coaches with a performance of Frank Sinatra‘s “The Way You Look Tonight,” with both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton turning their chairs very early. So, right away, Adam started his pitch.
“There’s a soft spot in my heart for that song. I sing that song like once a week,” the 37-year-old father to be said. “This music is important to you, I felt that. I also heard your youth and inexperience, which made me even more excited, because then I thought to myself, ‘Oh man, I can teach this guy a lot of stuff!’ There were moments that it was brilliant and I want to make every moment brilliant.”

While Blake did try to pitch himself for Riley, let’s just say it seems like Adam is a shoe in. He later joined Riley on stage and told him to relax, loosen up a bit, and they would sing it together. With that, the song started over and Adam sang the first verse before passing it back to Riley.
Basically, the chemistry between the men is spot on and well, their voices really mesh together so from night one, I’m saying that these two could make quite the pair and we’d really enjoy seeing them sing together again the future.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Riley will chose Adam as his mentor? The show premieres Monday, Sept. 19 on NBC at 8PM ET.
