NYPD Blue star Ricky Schroder, 46, and his wife, Andrea Schroder, 44, are splitting after over two decades of marriage, according to TMZ. Andrea was reportedly the one to file for the divorce in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason she wants to call the whole thing off. The most heartbreaking part of the split between the couple? They were just a few weeks away from celebrating 24 years of marriage! How sad.
Andrea allegedly wants legal and physical custody of their daughter Faith, the only minor out of the four children the couple share, including two boys and two girls. Though, she is willing to give visitation to the Silver Spoons star. Ricky stirred up quite a bit of news several years ago, when he took Faith out of her Malibu middle school, saying he was concerned that something in the school was responsible for a cancer outbreak. Yikes! So, he and Andrea ended up homeschooling Faith after three teachers were diagnosed with the illness. During their marriage, Ricky’s religion was said to have been affected by Andrea, who is a Mormon, as he became more active in the church over the years.

Andrea posted a rather cryptic caption on an Instagram photo of herself back in July, which could have pointed to signs that the marriage was falling apart. “Life is moving so fast and there are moments when I grieve the stages of life that I used to dream about that now have passed; like getting married, having a baby, building a home, first day of school or last day of college,” Andrea wrote. “These moments have all come and gone at lightening speed. So now I walk into a new, less predictable future that mid life brings, carrying faith, hope and love.” New, less predictable future indeed.
