It’s pretty bizarre when a presidential nominee has nicer things to say about the controversial President of Russia than the President of the United States! However, this kind of stuff doesn’t even surprise us from Donald Trump anymore. The GOP candidate was asked about how he would improve relations with Russia during NBC’s Commander-In-Chief Forum on Sept. 7, and he couldn’t help but gush about Vladimir Putin while dissing Barack Obama!

After Matt described all of the horrible things Vladimir has done, Donald actually defends him saying they “aren’t proven” and that he has an “82 percent approval rating.” When Matt brought up even more controversial actions by Russia, he says “Do you want me to start naming some of the things that President Obama does at the same time?” When Matt said “Do you want to be complimented by that former KGB officer?” he says “I think when he calls me brilliant I’ll take the compliment okay? Look, it’s not going to get him anywhere. I’m a negotiator, we’re going to take back our country.”
Yikes. Donald has repeatedly gushed about Vladimir in the past, as Matt explains, and that doesn’t seem to bother Donald at all. It’s crazy to see someone who wants to be president of America so infatuated with someone who has been one of our biggest adversaries, and the fact that he’s coming him to our own Commander-In-Chief is particularly shocking.
