A report about the 2017 Super Bowl emerged on Aug. 9, claiming Adele will likely snag the highly-coveted Halftime Show gig. Obviously, that would be amazing, but Swifties have been holding out hope for Taylor Swift to be the big headliner. But now, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Don’t fret, though. Taylor actually has other plans in regards to collaborating with the NFL.

“When it comes to the NFL and Taylor, she actually would like to be the person who sings the Sunday Night Football theme song which is currently occupied by Carrie Underwood. Taylor would love to do that one day,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

OMG! This would be the best thing ever. Of course, we love Carrie Underwood, but we have an obsession with Taylor Swift and anything she touches.

Even so, it might be a while before Taylor has the opportunity to take over the Sunday Night Football theme song. Carrie JUST released a snippet of her new Sunday Night Football theme song, so it doesn’t seem like she’s going anywhere anytime soon.

The brand new song is called “Oh, Sunday Night,” and it mixes together country, rock and pop. “I love being part of the Sunday Night Football family and can’t wait for the fans to hear the new theme song,” Carrie said in a statement. The American Idol Season 4 winner will debut the new theme song on September 11 when the NFL season starts.
