Marc’s father, Edward Mezvinsky, was a Democratic congressman from Iowa. He also served in the U.S. House of Representatives. Marc’s mother, Marjorie Margolies, represented Pennsylvania in the House of Representatives.

Marc’s father was found guilty of fraud in 2001. He served 5 years in prison. Records reveal that Edward asked Bill Clinton for a presidential pardon in letters, according to Politico. It hasn’t been confirmed if Bill ever saw the letters. “No action was taken… which is a matter of public record,” Edward’s wife and Chelsea’s mother-in-law told the outlet. “To my knowledge, we never received any reply from the White House.”
