Okay, so who called it that Amy Schumer, 35, was a badass volleyball player in high school?! Everyone loves a good Before They Were Famous story, and Amy delivered when she shared an adorable clip on Instagram of her high school self as captain of the Varsity volleyball team at South Side High School in Rockville Centre, NY. Now we know where Amy got all of those dancing skills for that famous scene in Trainwreck — she’s a natural on the court!

“My volleyball recruiting vid #tbt #gymnistheadmovethinkingimhilarious #notakers #paidfulltuition #studentloans,” Amy captioned the video — so good. We learn from the clip that not only was Amy captain of the team for two years at school, but she played three positions: outside hitter, middle blocker and right side hitter. Damn! “This is my fourth year as Varsity, and second year as captain,” she says in the video. “Now, I’ll show you what I’ve got.” It then cuts to a clip of her furiously spiking a volleyball over the net — go, Amy!
Well, if comedy doesn’t work out, Amy’s got a fallback. “I was a competitive volleyball player, and I still love to play at the beach,” Amy has said about her athletic past. So if you’re lucky enough to find yourself at a beach with Amy Schumer, be sure to invite her to play a game of v-ball — but don’t be surprised if she demolishes you in a game.
