“Happy to introduce Jaden Smith @christiaingrey in the new SS16 @louisvuitton ad Campaign photographed by Bruce Weber,” Nicolas captioned his first photo from the 2016 ad campaign. The photo shows Jaden walking in a sunny alleyway, wearing a leather jacket and glovelets, a black and white fringed top, and a long black skirt. And he looks amazing!
The second shot from the ad campaign shot by famed photographer Bruce Weber shows Jaden posing in the same outfit, alongside models Sarah Brannon, Rianne Van Rompaey, and Jean Campbell. You can see in this full-body shot that Jaden’s skirt is printed with a white pattern, and his look is finished off with some cool black oxfords. Seriously, this outfit is so cool, and he’s owning it!
This is far from the first time that Jaden wore a skirt in public. Jaden’s comfortable with himself, and wears what he wants, gender norms be damned! This gender fluid ad campaign is just an extension of his everyday wear — except he gets treated to some designer clothes and paid for the honor! Jaden was spotted running around Calabasas, California in April 2015 while wearing a dress, and it caused a major tizzy. His simple black dress, paired with leopard socks and a pair of Nikes, was a shock for a lot of people to see, but he dressing for himself — not anyone else!
He’s continued expressing himself through fashion, especially dresses, a number of times throughout 2015. He drove the point home about his wardrobe through an Instagram, also in April, that showed him trying on a cute dress in TopShop. “Went to TopShop to buy some Girl Clothes I Mean ‘Clothes,’” he captioned the pic. Well said! Jaden even wore a color-blocked dress to attend prom with Amandla Stenberg in May 2015.
Even if the Louis Vuitton SS16 ad campaign isn’t your cup of tea, it’s admittedly very impressive that a 17-year-old kid can score such a large spread! What else is coming next for this budding star? CLICK HERE to buy Jaden’s awesome movie with his day, After Earth!
