‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Recap: Jo Uncovers A Shocking Secret From Alex & Izzie’s Past

Damn you, Shonda Rhimes -- you get us every time! We've been dying for an Izzie Stevens comeback since she left 'Grey's Anatomy' in 2010, so just the mere mention of her name on the Oct. 8 episode was a tease we almost couldn't handle. And now, there's a perfect reason for her to return. While ABC wanted Grey's Anatomy viewers to think Jo (Camilla Luddington) was pregnant before the Oct. 8 episode, we actually came to find out that Alex's (Justin Chambers) new girlfriend discovered a shocking secret from his past relationship with Izzie (Katherine Heigl).

So Jo totally found out that Alex and Izzie had a bunch embryos frozen a few years ago, which infuriated her since Alex has only ever shown interest in getting a dog with her. When she confronted Alex about them, he just said she had cancer and they were married, so it was a different situation. Jo wasn’t satisfied with that excuse, though, and she argued with Alex some more until he stormed out and headed back to the hospital, where he was pulling all-nighters to try and save a set of twins who needed liver transplants. After losing one of the twins, due to complications, Alex went home, stripped off his pants and told Jo he’s ready to have babies with her. But she’s not even ready for that — she just got upset because she wanted to make sure she meant something to Alex, and wasn’t just a girl he’s dating to pass time.

Meanwhile, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) had a panic attack this week because she learned that her ex-boyfriend is getting married. Apparently, she discovered that she often leaves parts of her life in the past and gives up on them too easily. So after drinking through a bunch of her regret, Maggie ended up hooking up with Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti).

And when Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) finally received her contract for her new position as the Chief of General Surgery, Maggie and Callie (Sara Ramirez) urged her to seek a higher salary before accepting the offer, as they make a boatload more than her. And it actually ended up being just a test. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) wanted Meredith to use everything she taught her and come to her, demanding more money. So when Meredith finally went to Bailey with her demands, she was given exactly what she asked for. Cha-ching!

But someone who didn’t get what they wanted this week was April (Sarah Drew), who is still trying to fix her marriage with Jackson (Jesse Williams). He wanted her to move out, but she refused. So when she returned from work one night, he was gone. That’s right — Jackson packed up his things and moved in with Bailey and her husband. It seems like it might be time for April to accept her marriage is over.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Izzie return to Grey’s Anatomy? Should Jackson and April get divorced? Tell us how you feel!
