If you were following Mary-Kate and Ashley’s 28th year, you would notice that they spent a good deal of it trying to escape the rumor mill. With Fuller House, the follow-up to Full House due to hit Netflix soon, the famous twins were asked again and again if they would return to the sitcom to reprise their star-making role as Michelle Tanner.
Though they have indicated in the past that they want nothing to do with Full House (if skirting all reunions was any clue), it didn’t stop a zillion articles, hopes and wishes from former cast-mates (and false rumors) saying that they actually would come back. Sadly, they confirmed that Michelle was just a whisper in the past — they wouldn’t be returning to the series. So sad.
The Mary-Kate and Ashley spent the last year on their own projects, which were impressive and varied, especially for two people as young as they are. The sisters have been hard at work, quietly working on their high-end fashion line The Row, which was nominated for two Council of Fashion Designers of America awards in March 2015: Womenswear Designer of the Year and Accessory Designer of the Year. Can you believe that?
Their luxurious, minimalist (and incredibly expensive!) line is favored by anyone who’s anyone in the fashion game; they’re in the company of Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Céline and the like. Not too shabby for a pair of child stars turned style icons.
