There’s no denying that Nina and Ian’s chemistry drove TVD to greatness as they developed one of the most obsessed over relationships on the show. Even though Nina feels like it had gotten “too awkward” to be around him on set allegedly leading to her departure, it’s great that Nina is still able to compliment him! Actually, HollywoodLife.com told you that Ian tried to convince Nina to stay on the show, so perhaps they are still on good terms!
Nina has clearly mastered the art of shaking things off after Ian was spotted packing on the PDA with his fiancee Nikki Reed, 26, at Coachella on April 11. Good for Nina for being so mature as she gets ready to start a new phase of her life.

Right before Nina announced she was leaving TVD for good, the actress opened up about Ian, and it’s totally apparent she meant what she said!
“I have an enormous amount of respect and love for him,” Nina told E! Online before saying that if you date someone there’s qualities you appreciate in them, referring to Ian.
“That doesn’t change just because you’re not together anymore. It doesn’t change. It shouldn’t, otherwise, why were you with them?” Such a great, mature point!
