Zendaya Accepts Giuliana Rancic’s Apology: I Appreciate It & Forgive You

Zendaya has graciously found it in her heart to forgive Giuliana Rancic after she made a racially insensitive joke about the Disney star on the Feb. 23 episode of ‘Fashion Police.’ Read Zendaya’s lengthy response to Giuliana’s video apology here!

Zendaya is taking the high road by accepting Giuliana Rancic‘s apology for her racially insensitive joke on the Feb. 23 episode of Fashion Police. Giuliana begged for the Disney star’s forgiveness in a video, which aired during the Feb. 24 episode of E! News, and it looks like Zendaya’s ready to forgive and forget. But not before taking the opportunity to share some wisdom and “spread that love.”

Zendaya Forgives Giuliana Rancic — Accepts Her Apology After Racist Comment

Zendaya took to Twitter to not only forgive Giuliana, but express why she strongly reacted in the first place, following the “joke” about her dreadlocks on Fashion Police. Read her entire tweet below:

“Studies have shown that even though we try to act without prejudice, sometimes it’s just hidden inside us due to our past or surroundings. That hidden prejudice is often influential in our actions. It’s our job to spot these issues within others and ourselves and destroy them before they become hurtful. I have so many people looking up to me, that I couldn’t be scared, wait it out, nor could I just stand up for me; I had to do it for WE. It is important in this journey to remember that just because someone has inflicted hurt upon us, it does not give us the right to do the same. Body shaming and other hurtful tactics will never get the job done. As hard as it was to stop MYSELF from being ignorant and from posting the first mean words that came to my mind because I was hurt, I had to think about the bigger picture. Instead I sat for two hours on my phone, doing my research and formulating an educated response. Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I’m glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network. I hope that others negatively affected by her words can also find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well. From a quote we all know by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ‘Darkness cannot drive our darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.’ Let’s be that light and spread that love. — Zendaya Coleman”

We love Zendaya’s response. She accepted Giuliana’s apology, but also explained why we should all be careful with the words that we use. Bravo to her!

Kelly Osbourne Quitting ‘Fashion Police’? She’s Angry Over Zendaya Racist Comment

We’re certainly glad things worked out, too, because Giuliana’s co-host, Kelly Osbourne, was threatening to quit the show after producers allowed her friend to get dissed on Fashion Police.

In case you’re unaware, it all started when Giuliana said Zendaya likely smelled like weed at the Oscars because she had her hair in dreads. Zendaya then took to Twitter to slam Giuliana for making such a racially insensitive comment.

Kelly then said she would quit the show if all was not made right.

Thankfully, it seems like all has been forgiven — perhaps it can also be forgotten. We can only hope.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you happy Zendaya accepted Giuliana Rancic’s apology? Tell us how you feel!
