Jamie Dornan & Charlie Hunnam: ‘Fifty Shades’ Face Off Again? – Hollywood Life

Jamie Dornan Quitting ‘Fifty Shades’ Rumor: Charlie Hunnam To Have Returned?

As rumors recently swirled that Jamie Dornan would be quitting 'Fifty Shades of Grey', fans began wondering what the studio's Plan B would've been.  Would Charlie Hunnam, the original choice for Christian Grey, have accepted the role the second time around? Thankfully, after much speculation and anxiety, Jamie Dornan, 32, confirmed on Feb. 24 that rumors of his departure from the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise were unfounded (phew!) Still, the rumors really got people to thinking about who could replace him if he were to leave the Red Room forever. Who would be fit to pick up the flogger where he left it last? Many began to hope that Charlie Hunnam, 33, would return to the role he turned down prior to Jamie's casting. HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY what his answer would've been.

Jamie Dornan & Charlie Hunnam: ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ — Whose The Better Christian?

Survey says:

Sorry to disappoint, but our source tell us that Charlie would’ve opted out AGAIN!

“If the role of Christian Grey is offered to Charlie for the sequels, he would not take it. That ship has sailed and he got it out of it when he did because he didn’t want to be a part of the films and he wants to make that decision permanent,” an insider EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com.

Jamie Dornan Leaving ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’: Why He May Really Quit Franchise

Well, at least he’s a man who knows what he wants. While watching Charlie get sexy with Dakota Johnson would’ve been fun, the franchise already has it’s Christian and rather than looking back, everyone should just concentrate on looking forward — and locking everyone in for those much desired sequels!

’50 Shades Of Grey’: Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson’s Sexiest Photo Shoots

As we previously reported, Charlie was very forthright about why he originally rejected Fifty Shades of Grey in the December issue of Men’s Health.

“I was going to finish playing a psychopath who’d just lost his wife [in Sons of Anarchy], and five days later I’d be on set playing Christian Grey. I was like, ‘This is going to be a f**king disaster. It was the opposite of how I’ve tried to ground my career, not stretch myself too thin, and always do my homework,” Charlie revealed to Men’s Health, according to E!

While we can always appreciate an actor who takes his craft seriously, fans would also appreciate admiring his abs on the silver screen.

Alas, it looks like this guy definitely sticks to his (really muscular) guns.
