The British have invaded Hollywood! To promote Vanity Fair‘s annual Hollywood issue, featuring a “British Invasion”, a short film was created of British actors acting out famous scenes from American movies. Joining the fabulous Keira Knightley, are tons of renowned British actors like Benedict Cumberbatch, Felicity Jones, and more!
Filmed by British photographer, Jason Bell, the clever film depicts different eras of American cinema.
We see Tom Huddleston and Felicity as the perfect Bonnie and Clyde, Game of Thrones star Richard Madden take on the noble role of Clark Gable in Gone With the Wind, and Michelle recite a famous line from Lauren Bacall‘s To Have and Have Not.
But the real scene stealer was Keira, who acted out the famous orgasm scene from the 1989 romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally. You know, the one where Meg is in the diner and fakes a very loud orgasm.
Keira pretty much nails it, too! Not only does she give Meg a run for her money, but it’s hilarious when Judi Dench delivers the film’s iconic punchline, “I’ll have what she’s having.”
What’s great s that Keira specifically wanted to act out this scene, Jason told Vanity Fair.
“I didn’t know which bit [Keira] would do,” Jason said. “She kind of laughed and said, ‘It’s the orgasm we’ve got to do. Once you had Keira Knightley faking an orgasm and Judi Dench saying, ‘I’ll have what she’s having,’ it was a pretty easy sell. Everyone just said, ‘Sure, what do you want me to say?'”
Jason’s witty “British Invasion” film is in addition to his 30-page portfolio for Vanity Fair‘s March issue, which will be available on Feb. 5. The London-based photographer created the film after observing the large “invasion” of British actors in Hollywood.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Did you like the “British Invasion” film? Who does the orgasm scene better, Keira or Meg? Tell us your thoughts below!
