It was time for the New Directions to figure out their songs for regionals, but Blain (Darren Criss) realized his constant need for control was literally turning him into a “puppet master.” However, his constant hallucinations of puppets — caused by a gas leak — ended up just annoying the glee club even more!
While it’s puppets for Jake, the gas-leak-induced hallucinations sends Jake into Janet Jackson‘s music video for “Rhythm Nation” combined with “Nasty.” The performance showed that he was happy being with multiple girls, while Marley (Melissa Benoist) just wanted respect and Bree (Erinn Westbrook) just wanted control — or so we thought.

Bree Shows New Side
However, while Bree spent the time trying to get Jake’s attention, she realized that she didn’t like that he was sleeping around — not because she was jealous, but because she was pregnant. Yes, you read that right. He was willing to put everything on hold and even skip out of detention early to go to the doctors with her.
But, just when we thought it was going to be exactly the Quinn-Puckerman story line of season one, Bree found out it was a false alarm — and also that Jake wasn’t a guy worthy of hooking up with. It seemed that her Santana-like outburst (but not as good) got to Jake, leading him to beg Marley to get back together.
She stood her ground though, even causing him to tear up. While we felt a tad bit bad for him and our Jarley-loving hearts were hoping for a reunion, it was nice to see her stand her ground and turn him down.
Pamela Lansbury Lands First Gig In NYC
Meanwhile, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and the rest of Pamela Lansbury landed their first big gig, but it wasn’t at all what they were expecting. The whole band told Kurt the venue he had booked was a bad idea, but he didn’t listen.
Kurt, Dani (Demi Lovato), Rachel (Lea Michele) and Starchild (Adam Lambert) all imagined a super-packed performance of Madonna‘s “Into the Groove,” but when no one showed up to their actual gig but one old man, the band started to question his judgement. He had to regain their trust, so he used every connection he had to land them a real gig at a Brooklyn hotspot!
The episode ended with PamLans singing Ylvis‘ “The Fox” with their puppets that Blaine sent, while the New Directions also sung along with their puppets — and animal masks of course.
So HollywoodLifers, what did you think of the episode? Do you think Jake & Marley will get back together?
