Though it seems so sad now, a family friend who attended the ceremony said it was a joyous occasion: “It was the most moving day of my life. It wasn’t a day to be sad. Alex and Pierce were smiling broadly.”
Just two weeks after the beautiful ceremony, Charlotte tragically died in London at age 41, after losing a three-year battle with ovarian cancer.
“On June 28 my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer,” Pierce, 60, told PEOPLE. “She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean.”
Charlotte’s Family Takes To Facebook To Honor Her Memory
Daughter Isabella called her mother an “angel” in a moving Facebook post, while Charlotte’s brother — 29-year-old actor and producer Sean Brosnan — also took to Facebook to remember his sister. Although he didn’t post a message, the heartbreaking pictures he posted of the two siblings lovingly goofing around with Charlotte’s son Lucas, 8, were worth a million words.
Charlotte was clearly undergoing cancer treatment when the photos were taken. She was wearing a bandana and a hat, and reveals her shaved head in one of the photos.
It’s so sad that Charlotte was taken so soon from her family and friends. Our thoughts go out to them during this difficult time.
