“Let me tell you one thing: Britney made a conscious decision to change her eating habits,” Chris from Body Fit: LA told us. “The stuff she was eating before…there is no way she could achieve that by eating that stuff. The thing about abdominals like that is they are made in the kitchen. You can do a 1,000 situps, but that can’t be accomplished without changing your eating habits. She’s not having those coffee drinks from Starbucks!”
Of course, it’s going to take more than just eating “clean” to get washboard abs. Here are some tips:
Tip #1: Revamp your diet!
“Some women get lean very fast. But genetics also play a role in that process. The best thing you can possibly do is have a grasp on what you eat and make sure you’re eating foods high in whole grains, protein, fruits and veggies and non-processed foods.”
Tip #2: If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again!
“At the end of the day it’s about perseverance and commitment. There are a couple sayings trainers love: ‘When you don’t feel like eating right, eat right.’ And ‘Whenever you don’t want to go to the gym, go to the gym.’
Tip #3: Don’t count…just go!
“As far as sets and repitions are concerned, forget about counting. Go until you can’t go anymore. Go until you reach the failure stage.”
Tip #4: Full body workouts are essential!
“Resistance exercise, full body workouts are even more important than just ab workouts. For someone like Britney, who’s had two kids, she’s done some serious work. She changed the way she lives. Do a full body workout three times a week.” Click HERE for a full body workout YOU can do!
Tip #5: Cardio will burn your fat!
“Shoot for 30-40 minutes of cardio 3-4 days a week. Cardio is important, but don’t forget about resistance or weight training, which is just as important (see above).”
There you have it! If you follow those five steps, you too can get washboard abs like Britney’s.
Our trainer also wanted us to tell you: “The thing to remember about what you’re seeing with Britney Spears is that she made a commitment to make a change. Forget about the workout, but without the commitment, the eating changes and the perseverance, you won’t get the other things you need done.”
Good luck, HollywoodLifers! Get out there and get to work!
