The 2015 World Series took place from Oct. 27 to Nov. 1. The 111 th edition of the ‘Fall Classic’ saw the National League champion New York Mets face off against the American League champion Kansas City Royals. Over the course of four games, the Royals battered the Met, taking Games 1-2, before closing things off with wins in Games 4 and 5. The Mets seemed like they were on the verge of a comeback in Game 3, winning the match with a score of 9-3. However, in front of the Met’s Citi Field, the Royals clinched the title. The victory was the first time since the 1989 Oakland Athletics that a team won the World Series after losing the previous year (in 2014, the Royals fell to the San Francisco Giants, who needed all seven games to put Kansas City away.) Salvador Perez of the Royals was awarded the MVP.
