What’s next for your character?
Clive Standen: For me, the main theme for Bryan in season 1 is the difference between revenge and retribution. I think he has big, big revenge plans for the man that killed his sister, but if he works for the CIA and Christina Hart, that somehow almost allows him to coin revenge under the guise of retribution. That’s something that’s going to play in the back of his mind all the way through the show. Moving forward, he still has some form of PTSD regarding his sister, because as far as Bryan is concerned, he is responsible for his sister’s death, even though the audience knows that the man on the train shot her at point-blank range. He doesn’t know that. He’s cut up about it. He’s not going to let it lie. But he also has a lot to learn from working within this new black ops world and the team that Christina Hart stet up.

Brooklyn Sudano: I think you’ll see over the span of the series the development of Asha and Bryan’s relationship, and the stops and starts it takes along the way and how they kind of deal with the grief of Callie’s death and process that. Everyone deals with those kinds of things differently and, you know, I think Asha’s trying to find some kind of connection with Bryan, and I don’t know if he’s as in touch with his emotions. It’s hard for him. I think Asha’s trying to draw him out and get to know him better through the process.

Gaius Charles: It’s interesting because I think people are still trying to figure out if John is a good guy or bad guy, so let me just say that conventionally speaking, John is a good guy. But he’s not afraid to get rough when the job calls for it.

Will Bryan ever catch a break this season?
Clive: Yeah. Brooklyn Sudano’s character, Asha, is a really welcome relief from the action. Her character, certainly for the first few episodes, is one the Bryan can actually let off steam and actually be himself around. What I like about the character I’m playing is that he doesn’t have an answer to everything. He get shy, he’s modest, and you only really find out the real Bryan when you’ve got a fly on the wall in a room where he’s not around this covert action team. What I love about Asha is that she is not one of those characters who is put into an action TV show or action franchise just to be saved by men from other men. She’s a strong-willed woman who is powerful in her own right.

What about a possible romance?
Brooklyn: There’s potential for that. I think it’s one of those things where you don’t always know where the path is leading but you just try to stay open. I think there may be a possibility of that coming up down the road.

Is Bryan going to be butting heads with everyone this season?
Clive: I think what makes Bryan Mills so good at what he does is he has this full momentum, but he’s very much a lone wolf. He is a gladiator, and this is not a gladiator sport working for the government. He has to learn to work within a team. He’ll get the job done, but the issue is that when other lives are in play you can’t not be responsible for their lives. That’s not how a team works. Whether this is going to work for him, whether he’s going to come out of this a stronger person, that’s yet to be seen.

Gaius: There’s tension there between Bryan and John because Bryan’s very much has a one-man army mentality at times, and I’m the guy with discipline. I’m the guy who has to make sure everybody comes back from the mission safe. So there’s some tension but I think over the course of the series, there’s also a great amount of respect developing.

Taken airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC after The Voice.
