Dylan O’Brien, 25, is a far cry from Stiles Stilinski in American Assassin. In the movie, based on bestselling Vince Flynn book series, Dylan plays counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp. The new photos show Dylan with an assault rifle ready to take down the bad guys and more.

Dylan has much longer hair than we’re accustomed to seeing and a beard! Michael Keaton, 65, plays Stan Hurley, who is Mitch’s mentor. Taylor Kitsch, 35, is a badass in a leather, playing the big bad villain. The movie follows Mitch’s journey as a rookie agent who teams up with Stan and CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate random attacks on both military and civilian targets. They must take down Taylor’s mysterious character before he starts a World War in the Middle East.

This is Dylan’s first major film role since his March 2016 injury on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure. Dylan has mostly stayed out of the public eye, but these photos prove he’s ready to get back into the thick of the action.

This is going to be the espionage thriller of 2016! Dylan has proven — with both Teen Wolf and The Maze Runner movies — that’s got what it takes to be the next big thing in Hollywood. Teen Wolf’s final season will premiere Nov. 15, and Dylan is the center of the show’s major storyline this year. After months of recovering, it’ll be good to see Dylan back and better than ever!
