Misty Copeland danced her way down the aisle on July 31, when she wed her love of 10 years, lawyer Olu Evans. Despite the fact that the 33-year-old ballet dancer and her man have been together for so long, they opted for a rather small ceremony at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach. With a view of the ocean as the backdrop, though, their wedding seemingly couldn’t have been more perfect!

The pair only had 100 guests for their big day, but Misty and Olu’s marriage was still romantic as ever. Pink and white roses and pink hydrangeas filled the gorgeous space, reminiscent of Misty’s ballerina getups. A source told E! News — who initially confirmed the marriage news — that Misty looked like an “ethereal goddess” in her Inbal Dror gown, topping off her ensemble with a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. We’re sure she was absolutely glowing!

When it came to the wedding preparations, Misty told the outlet that she wanted to try keeping things “classy and simple” for her “I do” affair. With a career that requires her to be beautifully adorned, Misty wanted to do things her own way on her wedding day.

“It’s interesting that I’m a ballerina, which is so girly and feminine and what every little girl dreams of,” she told E! “But it’s a character I’m playing, and that’s so much fun to be that. It’s, I guess, how people envision their wedding days, and that’s my life.”

Continuing her explanation, Misty added, “So I feel like I get to become a fairy princess on stage and wear incredible costumes and gowns to galas. So, for me, I just want to have a simple, as easy-going day as I can have and just not have it be a big show. I just want it to be simple and classy and not feel like I’m in a tutu.”

It certainly would’ve been fun to see her walk down the aisle in a tutu, but we’re glad Misty had an idea of what she wanted and made it happen. Congratulations, Misty and Olu!
