T. Swift’s 1989 sold 1.287 albums in just it’s first week of release, setting a record for most albums sold in a single week since 2002. Now JB thinks he can prove that he’s top dog by taking her record. “Justin not only wants to beat One Direction but he wants to shatter Taylor Swift’s 1984 album sales record,” an insider tells us. “He wants to try to reach 2 million which seems almost impossible but he honestly believes that he’ll be able to do it and prove that he is 100% back!” After so many years away from the studio we like seeing Justin come back with fire.

Of course Taylor Swift won’t be JB’s only competition next month. It’s going to be an epic battle of album sales when both the Biebs and 1D drop records on Nov. 13! And just in case fans were excited enough, the two superstar acts decided to share their new cover images on the exact same day, proving that their feud is still far from over. For his part, Justin looks smoking hot on his Purpose album cover, which shows him posing with his head bowed and showing off his shirtless and heavily tattooed body (naturally). As has become his custom, Justin took to Instagram to reveal a series of black and white Instagram shots on Oct. 9, which puzzled together to make out the album art. Swoon!
