Lane Kiffin became the most popular Offensive Coordinator on Sept. 24, reports Yahoo. Unverified rumors of his firing spread like wildfire on social media. Some fans alleged that Lane may have gotten into a fight with the head coach, while other rumors claimed he reportedly was sleeping with the wife of a Booster (aka an official supporter of the team.)
Others speculated he was supposedly fired over an alleged affair with Nick’s daughter! This allegation comes after the head coach’s child, Kristen Saban, married fellow Alabama graduate, Adam Setas in May 2015, reports AL.com. Some rumors ignored the alleged sex scandals and suggested Lane was leaving Alabama so he could supposedly take over the head coach position at Illinois.
These allegations reportedly came out of nowhere, as there wasn’t a post or a report accusing Lane of any wrongdoing, reports Deadspin. Hmm. In spite of these rumors and chatter, Lane remains employed by the University of Alabama — at the moment. Director of Communications for Alabama football, Josh Maxon, told TMZ Sports that Lane is “obviously” still the team’s Offensive Coordinator.
