‘Glee’ Rachel & Jesse St. James Kiss After Sectionals: Season 6 Episode 11 Recap – Hollywood Life

‘Glee’ Recap: Rachel & Jesse St. James Kiss After Sectionals

In 'Glee's' penultimate episode on March 13, Rachel finally decided between returning to Broadway or NYADA. Plus, Jesse St. James made a triumphant return and Sue rigged Sectionals so a particular glee club would win. If Glee's trying to go out with a bang, they're certainly accomplishing that -- at least in the literal sense. As the New Directions rehearsed for Sectionals on the March 13 episode, Sue (Jane Lynch) continued her plot for revenge by sending confetti/glitter bombs to the glee club and setting Will's (Matthew Morrison) minivan on fire. Also this week, Spencer sprained his ankle, Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) revealed some shocking news to Rachel (Lea Michele), and she made a surprising decision about her future. But that kiss -- that was everything!

‘Glee’ Rachel & Jesse St. James Kiss After Sectionals: Season 6 Episode 11 Recap

I’m a big fan of Sam (Chord Overstreet), but Rachel has so much more chemistry with Jesse St. James. It was so great to see them reconnect this week on the series’ penultimate episode.

Jesse showed up midway through Rachel’s performance of “Listen To Your Heart” by Roxette. He joined in before they moved on to small talk and reconnected. Apparently, Jesse is going to be playing the male lead in the Broadway show Rachel was asked to join. He actually had a lot to do with her casting. Rachel, however, explained that she wasn’t sure whether she should take the opportunity or return to NYADA, as Sam’s been begging her to do. In the end, following Sectionals, Rachel decided to return to college. Jesse was bummed, but he still invited her to come live with him in New York City and then they kissed!

Wait — what about Sam?!

A Winner Is Named At Sectionals

Speaking of Sectionals, after jumping over a number of obstacles, the New Directions performed at the competition. Luckily, everything went off without a hitch. Spencer even swung from a chandelier to hide the fact that his ankle was sprained.

Even though the other groups had over-the-top performances (those falcons!), the New Directions were named the winner! Sue later took credit for the win, telling Will that she orchestrated Vocal Adrenaline’s performances based on the judge’s dislikes. (She does have a heart!)

Performances Of The Night

Rachel and Jesse: “Listen To Your Heart”
Falconers: “Broken Wings”
Vocal Adrenaline: “We Built This City”/”Hey Mickey”
New Directions: “Take Me to Church”/”Chandelier”/”Come Sail Away”

That’s it, folks. Sadly, there’s only one more episode of Glee left. Get your tissues ready because the countdown starts now.
