Beyonce ‘Ring Off’ Full Song About Her Father Cheating On Her Mother — Listen

After a snippet was leaked on Nov. 19, fans worried that “Ring Off” was about Beyonce’s marital problems with Jay Z. Now that the full song is out, we can see the first lyrics are: “Mama, I understand your many sleepless nights,” which verifies that it is actually about her father being unfaithful to her mother.

At the end of the song, her mom, Tina Knowles, speaks about the hardships she faced. She says, “If you’re going through it, just know it’s called “going THROUGH it, You’re not gonna get stuck there, you’re not gonna die, You’re gonna survive.”
