Rachel might wanna slow her roll! After HollywoodLife.com reported EXCLUSIVELY that the NYC fashion designer was at the heart of Solange’s attack on Jay Z, she seemingly stirred the pot even more by tweeting out a reference to Jay on May 14.
Look out Rachel Roy, we’ve seen the video and you do not want to mess with Solange Knowles. But the New York City fashion designer seems to be trying her luck, and even after her “too close” relationship with Jay Z sparked Solange’s freak-out on May 5, she took to Twitter to seemingly flaunt the friendship even more with a cheeky message.
Rachel Roy Stirs The Pot With Solange Diss
If you didn’t study Rachel’s Twitter feed hard enough yesterday, May 14, you would’ve missed the shot she took at Solange:
The beach is better! Escape with RRR’s Summer ’14 video http://t.co/CqHIlScIEo
— Rachel Roy (@Rachel_Roy) May 14, 2014
Seems harmless, right? Not quite. Rachel’s “The beach is better” message is a direct reference to Jay Z’s song, “Beach Is Better,” which appeared on his last album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Any other day this might not be a big deal, but with Rachel embroiled in Solange and Jay Z’s family feud — a source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Solange was defending her sister Beyonce because she feels Jay and Rachel’s relationship is “too close for comfort” — publicly referencing Jay in any way is a definite dig at Solange. It seems to be a deliberate move to push Solange even further.
With the news that Solange doesn’t approve of Rachel and Jay’s friendship, Rachel seems to be flaunting that friendship as much as possible.
Rachel Roy: How She Started Solange Freak-Out
“Rachel Roy came up to [Solange] in a confrontational way earlier in the night,” the source revealed to us about what started Solange and Jay Z’s fight at the Met Gala after-party on May 5. “They’ve had a long-standing feud.”
“Beyonce also confronted Rachel and said, ‘Don’t talk to my sister like that,’ after Rachel confronted Solange,” the source added. And like we said, after Solange brought her displeasure to Jay’s attention, the situation escalated into that now-infamous elevator fight.
Now almost two weeks after the incident, Rachel seems more willing to stir the pot and drum up the drama than take the high road.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Is Rachel’s tweet out of line? Will it cause Jay Z and Solange to fight more? Let us know.
