Alzheimers, an unwanted pregnancy, bribes, extortion (and murder?) are just some of the things that went down on the dramatic season finale of ‘The Fosters.’ Keep reading to find out what went down!

A lot of big twists and turns were revealed in the season finale of The Fosters, one more shocking than the next! Keep reading for all of the juicy details!

‘The Fosters’ — Fighting for Sole Custody

The season finale of The Fosters started with plenty of drama. Stef (Teri Polo) found out that her son Brandon (David Lambert) bribed Ana (Alexandra Barretto) so that his dad Mike (Danny Nucci) wouldn’t go to jail. The bad news for Brandon is that Ana showed up and demanded $10,000 and said that if she didn’t get it, she’d go to the D.A. Stef decided to solve the problem on her own and basically told Brandon to stay out of it and keep his mouth shut (“this could end up very badly if it gets out”). Stef then goes to see Ana and tells her she’ll get her the $10,000 and says, “I never want to see you again.”

Stef also tells Brandon that he’ll be moving back home with her, which doesn’t sit well with Mike. But that wasn’t Brandon’s only problem in the episode. After Callie (Maia Mitchell) dumped him and his father came down on him hard for making fake I.D’s, Brandon got drunk and slept with (wait for it…) his dad’s girlfriend! Cut to the morning after when Brandon’s dad leaves him an awkward voicemail: “Brandon, it’s me dad. I love you. And I feel like I’m failing you as a dad. You’re a good son and I’m sorry.” AWKWARD!

More Trouble Arises In The Season Finale

Jesus (Jake T. Austin) got back on his meds, after he started acting out and having trouble with his girlfriend; Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) encouraged her boyfriend Zac to get help taking care of his mom, who has early onset Alzheimers and doesn’t know who he is at times (which meant he had to move to Arizona); and Callie can’t get adopted because there’s a problem with her birth certificate.

Also, Jude (Hayden Byerly) thinks he might be into his friend Connor, and tells his mom Lena (Sherri Saum) that he might be gay. “If you are or you’re not, it really doesn’t matter to us either way,” she told him. “We love you no matter what.” Cute!

Later, Stef goes to meet Ana wearing a wire to catch her trying to bribe a police officer, but Ana doesn’t show up. It’s later revealed that Ana got into a screaming match with some guy and the episode cuts to Mike, whose hand is full of blood and who has clearly been drinking — can we get a collective uh-oh?!

There’s A Baby On Board!

And if that cliffhanger wasn’t enough to hold you over until the summer premiere on June 16th, there was another major storyline that happened in the episode: Lena is pregnant! And while at first Stef wasn’t on board with it (“I don’t want you to have a baby, Lena”), she later came around to the idea: “I feel nothing but love right now. Love for you and for this beautiful baby we’re going to have.”

But wait! There was even more drama! At the very end of the episode, Brandon got ambushed by a bunch of his peers and got the crap kicked out of him!

HollywoodLifers, what did you think about The Fosters finale? Did you love the drama-packed season ender?

Was i shocked at the Finale…where do I begin…of course, we should all be shocked because all of the characters are completely out of character…I am always amazed at how little credit some writers give the audience in terms of knowing what is contrived and what is the natural path of circumstances. 1. I think that the fact that Jude might be gay is a natural path, that does not mean everybody on the show is Gay, just Jude is Gay and that is fine…gives depth and backstory to his character. I like Jude he has been one of the most believable characters thus far. 2. The problem with Brandon’s character is not that he screwed up it is that they did not spend more time developing the seed that they planted in the scene where Callie says,”how do you know who you are if you are doing what other people want you to do”, the writers were planting a seed for Brandon to start doing things out of character but it was too abrupt to be believable people just do not go from doing almost nothing wrong to bribing gangster thug Ana not to mention at the beginning of the show he seemed uncomfortable just catching the bus with Callie and now he knows how to manipulate criminals and is sleeping with the Father’s Girlfriend sorry writers…MUCH TOO CONTRIVED…don’t believe it. 3. I see why the baby has to be born, because unless they are planning for the show to only last 3 seasons, Callie and Brandon are close to being in College which leaves Jude and the twins and they cannot carrie the torch of the Children part of the Foster Clan. 4. Callie, I think her character work is the strongest, she is supposed to be a BAD KID with A GOOD HEART…I get that and most of the time I believe her however sometimes the dialect that they have for the kids takes me out of the moment…example when Brandon says “ADA didn’t believe you”, a kid would have said LAWYER just because, at some point Callie said,” you want to consort with a know drug trafficker” again I have know some very intelligent kids but that is just not jargon they use. 5. Most of the time, I really don’t get the twins, so i will leave that one alone. Maybe that is the way it is suppose to be so I will not judge. The reason I watched the show is because Ms. Lopez was producing and because TERI POLO is a strong and solid actress….I have seen her do some great work…episode of LAW and ORDER SVU comes to mind, she was absolutely unstoppable…she has the stuff she just needs the vehicle and she is going to make it happen, that scene with the father before the wedding what a strong choice….I wish the show well and hope they find a path that is as believable as it is entertaining….GO JLO!!!

i really hate that the sex happened between Brandon and his dad’s girlfriend. She WAS creepy from the beginning, but (1) Wow, she slept with a minor. She could be facin’ some statutory rape charges (2) The last person this chick slept with was his DAD. Ew.
This definitely does add to the drama of the series, but I feel it went too far and was unnecessary. Brandon went from being a character I totally loved to totally losing my respect in this last episode.
He claims what he feels/felt for Callie was real. I would have liked to think that it was, but the two were not allowed to pursue their relationship far enough to determine that. So whether or not his feelings for Callie are the real deal, the fact that he slept with his DAD’S GIRLFRIEND make Brandon look like a totally sex-driven creep himself, invalidating his judgment and, therefore, weakening any argument he will ever make about really being in love with Callie. Because now instead of looking like starcrossed lovers who are kept apart by an adoption–by the fact that Callie is his soo-to-be sister–Brandon just looks like a creep who gets a kick out of keeping it in the family. xP *gag*

If they are gonna make the kid Jude gay I will stop watching. Everybody doesn’t have to be gay especially kids for christ sake! Gays need to stop exploiting kids for their own benefit. Thats absolutely disgusting, a child is not preoccupied with what their sexuality is at that age and if their writers keeping writing as if a child actually does that then I will be kaput with the show and all the press around it. And also the thing that pisses me off is they make everyone on the show gay because it takes place around a gay couple. No not everybody on the show needs to be gay writers! FYI I don’t have a problem with gays but I do have a problem with a child questioning his sexuality when children don’t do that in reality until they are much older and of course teenagers now are questioning their sexuality because being gay is all the hype nowadays. Which is why they didn’t have this situation in other shows because it doesn’t happen only now does it happen because of all the hype.

same here, the nail polish was a clear giveaway (Actually callie talking about how he liked to dress up in girl clothes in the pilot was a giveaway), they should have done more than one episode with him questioning and sooner though.

Ha! Hilarious that you think a 13y/o wouldn’t be questioning his sexuality. I am a big grown up gay with many many gay people in my life and I do not know a single one who didn’t know they were gay or at least questioning their sexuality at 13. Gay for the hype if it? You are literally making me laugh so hard my cheeks hurt. Might be best to stay away from topics about which you have no idea. Can we please find another inhabitable planet already for fools like this? #clueless #isdisbiotchkiddingme?

I’m sorry but I don’t agree…. I speak from personal experience that some children do question their sexuality at that age, I have family members that were about 7 yrs old when they started to question their sexuality, mind you they are all out of the closet gay men now, leading very happy and healthy lives. What happend sis that some ppl like yourself can’t handle the fact that this does I fact happen in real life. And it’s been happening for a very long time. What happend sis that nowadays gays are more accepted than they were in the past. I do agree that Jude doesn’t need to be gay in this show but I think it’s okay for him to question his sexuality and that he went to his mom and told her how he was feeling. If one day my daughter stars to question her sexuality I want to be the one she speaks to not someone outside my house because she feels like she won’t be accepted or will get in trouble.

It’s pretty common for kids that age, even younger, to question their sexualities. I know I did. And yes, I am gay. Better for Jude to be a gay kid that’s surrounded by love than some kid who’s denying himself happiness and love well into his adulthood. Plus the scene where he asked about it was really sweet, but not too sappy.

I questioned my sexuality around his age. I was very preoccupied with it. I was not even a teen yet and Jude is supposed to be 13. I’m pretty sure most people start thinking about such things around age 12. Puberty!

“Everyone” is not gay, and even if they were, so what? Since quite recently (and even now) more than 90% of shows have a straight-only cast. As for questioning sexuality- I’ve been aware of my attraction to guys since I was five (female)- I even got “married” on the playground. Ring and everything, haha! But I also remember imagining kissing one of my girl friends at that age too. I didn’t really question anything until I was about 12, and know I’m a proudly out bisexual!

And no, I didn’t feel that way because of the trends. I didn’t even know what “gay” was until I was about 11 and I was actually scared out of my mind when I began questioning my sexuality. It was definitely not a “trend” in my eyes.

it is what it is

Posted at 12:27 PM on March 26, 2014

It isnt a hype, trust me. If it was a hype I wouldve tried being interested in the same gender, but I am not. Its not a hype, and by you saying its a hype makes me feel that you are disconnected from the world that is today. Go outside and ask every kid/teen/YA you see, and ask them if being gay is a hype.
And so what if they allow Jude to question himself at a young age, and then in turn accept who he is. It is a very realistic situation, because thats how it is.
And if you arent happy with it, you can always stop watching like you said you would. The show isnt going to go down the drain because you arent happy with the story line.
And, to point something out, children usually do question their sexuality at a young age, but since they may or may not be confused, they dont really let others know, until they are more sure and/or are older. But being gay is something I believe is a part of you from the beginning. And if you are following a so called hype, you probably wont keep dating the same gender for a while.
Just my opinion.
