Brittana fans are likely still reeling from Brittany and Santana’s devastating breakup in season four of ‘Glee,’ so they may want to divert their eyes from Naya Rivera’s new interview with ‘Complex’ magazine, where she reveals her ideal pick for her next lady love.
Heather Morris, who plays Brittany, will not be returning to Glee as a series regular for season five. In light of that, I think it’s safe to assume that Brittany’s ex-girlfriend, Santana (Naya Rivera), will be moving on to new love interests. Naya seems to be on board with that idea because she told the August 2013 issue of Complex magazine who she’d like to see Santana date next.
Santana’s New Girlfriend On ‘Glee’ — Naya Rivera Reveals Her Dream GF In ‘Complex’
“It would be funny if she had a girlfriend who had Lena Dunham’s personality,” Naya, 26, tells Complex magazine. “[Santana’s] been crying for two seasons now. I’d like her to just have fun.”
However, before the Glee writers discuss Santana’s future love life, they’ll have to try to figure out how to continue the series after Cory Monteith’s devastating death. The 31-year-old actor, who portrayed Finn Hudson since the show’s inception in 2009, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13.
‘Glee’ Will Likely Pay Tribute To Cory This Season
As for how Cory’s untimely passing will affect the future of his character, and all characters connected to him, those talks have yet to take place. Our source had this to say on the subject:
With this being so sudden and unexpected, there have been zero thoughts or discussions on the direction of the show. And there will not be any thoughts on how to react to this till some of the grieving process subsides. … But it’s easy to say there will be a tribute episode, and the season will be dedicated in his honor. Cory will have a never-ending connection to the legacy of the show; it will be handled delicately and with the utmost respect. The whole situation is just completely awful, and those [issues] will be addressed … but its safe to say, in the current state people are in over his death, that it will take some time.
Regardless of what the writers choose to do, they certainly don’t have an enviable task ahead of them.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? How should Glee handle Cory’s death?
