‘Devious Maids’: Flora Was Adrian’s Prostitute — Season 1 Episode 3 Recap – Hollywood Life

‘Devious Maids’ Recap: Adrian’s Connection To Flora Is Revealed

Basically, Adrian and Flora had a very 'Pretty Woman' relationship -- if Julia Roberts had ended up dead in a pool at the end of the movie. The July 7 episode of Devious Maids revealed yet another clue to Flora's killer, and naturally, all roads led back to Adrian Powell. Here's how it all started: After bumping into Michael's ex-wife at the grocery store, Marisol (Ana Ortiz) learned that Taylor used to be a "whore" -- with and without the quotation marks.

But wait, it got even more bananas from there. It turns out Adrian was Taylor’s original pimp, and she wasn’t his only employee; Flora was also working for him — you know, before she was brutally raped and murdered at the Powells’ house on the first episode.

(Boy, that was some party, huh?)

The final scene of the episode revealed that Adrian doesn’t just set up his friends with hookers, but actually watches them have sex from a two-way mirror. Nothing creepy about that. Not at all.

Valentina’s Crush… Crushed

Genevieve (Susan Lucci) did her best to help Valentina (Edy Ganem) and Remi’s (Drew Van Acker) relationship blossom this week, but her plan came to a crashing halt once Zoila (Judy Reyes) caught wind of it. Zoila — who is quickly becoming my my least-favorite character on any show — refused to work for Genevieve until she’d told Remi not to see Valentina anymore.

Unfortunately, her plan worked — and it only cost Genevieve a minor trip to the emergency room. (Long story.)

Rosie Vs. The Boner

Rosie’s (Dania Ramirez) sad life continued this week, as she found out she still needed several hundred dollars for new lawyer fees. Though Peri immediately shot down Rosie’s request for a loan, Spence (Grant Show) was far more willing — as was his massive boner.

Spence later apologized for the boner, but not for the feelings behind it. I guess that sort of counts as an apology.

Driving Ms. Carmen

Lastly, Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) finally scored a meeting with a big-time producer, but the kind of sweet music he wanted to make wasn’t exactly the kind you hear in the studio. And when he wasn’t busy molesting her in the backseat of a car — awkwardly driven by Sam, no less — he was kindly telling her to drop her accent. As he said, “Americans, they like Latinas, as long as they’re not too Latina.”

Carmen’s willingness to change herself has officially turned Sam off from her, which isn’t great, considering he covers her butt on a weekly basis. I wonder who will get Carmen out of her next jam with Odessa?
