In a new interview, Taylor Swift sounds more mature — and more romantic — than ever.

When a reporter for Vanity Fair broaches the question of whether Taylor may be forever unlucky in love, Tay Tay’s reaction is actually is quite surprising. No, she doesn’t bite the reporters head off and feed it to her cat, Meredith. Instead she shows a mature side without any semblance of revenge on the mind.

Taylor Swift: A Hopeless Romantic

“Part of me feels like it’s gonna be wrong until it’s right,” Taylor tells the reporter, speaking in song lyrics. Taylor goes on to say that she’s actually happy to have had all of her failed relationships. According to her, instead of being bitter, she is now looking at them as learning experiences.

“I’m perfectly happy for all my past relationships to be wrong until I find the one that’s right,” Taylor says before adding, “I’m very happy not having found my great love yet.”

This is Taylor at her most romantic — admitting that she believes there is one true love roaming the Earth out there, and that it’s just a matter of time before they find each other. All the John Mayers and Harry Styles are just stepping stones to her soulmate!

Taylor Swift’s Dream Guy

In the interview, Taylor also describes the guy she’s looking for, and the criteria is pretty simple: “A guy who wants to know the stories of who I was before this — a guy who wants to know the girl.”

That’s actually a lot easier said than done. Taylor Swift is pretty well-known, so finding a guy who only wants to know about her life before her celeb days might be a lot to ask for. Unless there’s some hunky guy living under a rock somewhere!
