Justin did refer to Britney Spears as a  ’bitch’ at the DirecTV Super Bowl party on Feb. 2, but the ‘Suit & Tie’ singer now clarifies his statement.

Justin Timberlake rocked the house at the Super Bowl DirecTV party on Feb. 2, performing “Suit & Tie,” alongside Jay-Z, introducing new songs from his upcoming album, and singing old favorites like “Cry Me A River.” It was during this song, written about his break up with Britney Spears, that Justin said, ”Sometimes in life, you think you found the one. But then one day you find out, that she is just some bitch!” Now, the sexy singer is clarifying his statement, saying he respects her and loves her. Wow!

Justin tweeted on Feb. 3, “Ok. I see you. Wouldn’t disrespect ANYONE personally. Ever. #Relax #ItsBritneyBitch I do love that saying though*with accent* #Respect.”

It’s been known for years that Justin’s hit song was about Britney, 31, and how she allegedly cheated on him with choreographer Wade Robson.

In an E! True Hollywood Story special about Timbaland, which aired in 2002, the producer says, “He went to a concert and saw Britney, and Britney talked about him in the show and he was pissed.”

Justin further explains, “I was on a phone call that was not the most enjoyable phone call. I walked into the studio and he (Timbaland) could tell I was visibly angry.”

Timbaland recalls, “I was like, ‘Man, don’t worry about it’ and he was like, ‘I can’t believe she did that to me’ and he was like, ‘You were my sun, you were my earth…’”

Britney and Justin broke up that year. The song, of course, earned Justin a Grammy Award in 2004.
