Stefan’s done crying over Elena! He may not be the Ripper, but he definitely took a dark turn this week.
Last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries found Elena (Nina Dobrev) ripping out Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) heart with her confession of love for Damon (Ian Somerhalder); and on the Jan. 24 episode, it was Stefan’s turn to do the heartbreaking. After straight-up telling Elena, “I’m not in love with you,” the once-lovable Salvatore left her confused, and found solace in the arms of…
…Rebekah (Claire Holt)!
Apparently that spoiler about Rebekah reminding Stefan they were “once good friends” was actually an understatement, because when we last saw the duo tonight, they were writhing on top of one another in a steaming hot fang-lock.
Before getting down and dirty, they made a little deal — “no feelings, no attachment” — but somehow I doubt their total lack of emotion. After all, Stefan told Rebekah earlier in the episode that he loved having “crazy sex” with her, and it wasn’t because there were no feelings involved.
Now for the really interesting part: How is Elena going to react?!
The Hunter Becomes The Hunted
Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) went by many names this week: “Hunter,” “Big Jer,” and “Gilbert Boy” to name a few. But the best word I can think to describe him is “screwed,” because he spent the entire hour trying to save himself from Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Damon. Since Kol — or as I call him, Diet Klaus — wasn’t allowed to hurt Jeremy himself, he compelled Damon to feast on Jer’s beautiful bones.
Jeremy managed to trap Damon — with some much-needed surprise help from Stefan — but how long will he be safe? With Damon and Kol out to get him, he’s sweating right through his tank tops. He should probably just go shirtless from now on. Anyone disagree? No? OK, then.
Oh, did I forget to mention Klaus used Matt (Zach Roerig) as bait to tap into Jeremy’s hunter instincts? Not cool, Klaus. Not cool.
Bonnie Bargains With The ‘Brows
Just when I think Bonnie (Kat Graham) is smart, she reminds us that she’s actually the opposite. She is not smart. Mystic Falls’ sassiest li’l witch got to interrogate Shane (David Alpay) about the council murders, and somehow their conversation ended with her agreeing to help him resurrect Silas. How did that happen, you ask? Well, he promised that — for whatever reason — Silas would be able to bring back Grams. As much as I love the idea of having Jasmine Guy back on my TV screen, I’ve got to say I still don’t trust that shady professor. Or his eyebrows.
And now, for the weekly Delena/Stelena breakdown. This episode was more about action-slash-betrayal than romance, but it wasn’t totally heartless:

Obviously they didn’t bring in a new girl for stefan that could potentialy be a real relationship because of the love triangle. Maybe it means he and elena will get another chance. Which really pisses me off though. I do not like stefan and elena together, i love him with rebekah though. Totally great together, even if it was in spite.

Omfg Stefan! How low can you get? How can you sleep with Rebekah after what she did at the school? Did you forget how much she enjoyed herself seeing you suffer when she compelled Elena to tell the truth about Damon? She was relentless in torturing you knowing how much that was hurting you, but that seems to have been quickly forgotten…of all the women you could’ve gone after, you chose the worse one! I cant understand why people are rejoicing in this twisted hook-up…I hope sleeping with her will blow up in your face, and I’m sure Rebekah will find someway of making you suffer again… I really hope so for you have lost all dignity…arrggggg….

I didn’t like Stefan sleeping with Rebekah AT ALL! He deserves better than that!!!!! Why didn’t the writers bring in somebody else that could at least have some potential as a real relationship? That was just a pathetic hook up. I felt sad for both of them…ick.

wth with the total team stelena/delena point system-obviously, the author of this article is team delena. i like how she states ““You’re strong enough to resist the compulsion; I know you are, because I love you,” Elena says. “And you love me. You’d do anything for me.” (+30 points)” BUT fails to MINUS points when damon COULDN’T break the compulsion and STILL goes after Jeremy. i’m all for having an opinion, but come on, at least be fair about it. i personally like stefan the best when he’s happy, and if hooking up with rebekah makes him happy, then so be it-there is no team stelena now imo. anyways, i was really annoyed when elena made that b**** look when stefan didnt want to come to her rescue when damon was hunting jeremy, jeez woman get over yourself. you cant expect to tell someone you’re no longer in love with him, and then expect him to do whatever you want him to. i used to dislike elena and damon together, but now i see that they deserve each other. at least rebekah’s feelings for stefan was always genuine, -__-

I never thought I would like Stefan and Rebekah together, but I actually am excited about the prospect of them. It’s nice to see Stefan finally moving on, and I think he and Rebekah could be really happy together. I can’t wait to see where it leads this season, and I am glad I won’t miss a moment with my DISH Hopper. My DVR is set to automatically record all of the shows I watch, so I don’t have to risk ever falling behind. With the amount of things I watch, it really helps that I have 2,000 hours of storage space available, I never worry about room. It is a bonus that I can fast forward through commercials on my recordings, getting me back to the Mystic Falls drama quicker. It was so great to hear Stefan stand up to Elena about moving on, and I really hope that his relationship with Rebekah lasts.

@ DE-MEANT-2B…..i am not sure you watched these two episodes properly because if you did…u would realise that stefan bit elena after his humanity was turned off by klaus.not before that…i don’t think i have to remind you that damon’s humanity was fully on..kol never turned off damon’s humanity…these two circumstances do not tally

thank you for your concern but i am quite capable of comprehending and being able to follow the show. my point is that in the end stefan wasn’t able to fight klaus’ compusion either and eventually causing him to bite elena. i don’t think that i have to remind you that when damon had his open chance to kill jeremy and was still fighting against his compulsion that he stood there asking AGAIN for jeremy to shoot and kill him. did you forget that although stefan “lost” his humanity that his love for damon was able to break through and signs of the good stefan were peeking through. that whole rippah storyline was a fail cuz one minute stefan was completely out of control and had no feelings and all his emotions were shut off cuz of the almighty powerful klaus and then the switch that was supposedly off would flicker on but only when it had to do with damon cuz stefan steayed a complete dick with elena. you have your opinion and i have mine. too bad stefan’s “faulty” switch couldn’t have prevented him from biting elena like it did with keeping papa klaus from ripping damon’s heart out in the bar. lol

actually, he did fight the compulsion. he told her to run, and tried to stab himself in order to let her get away. that is why klaus said, and this is one of my favorite lines in the whole series, “the only thing stronger than your craving for blood, is your love for this one girl.” klaus had to go all SUPER crazy on stefan to make him turn on elena, and might i add that stefan said NO many times-something that should be, impossible to do. kol merely just compelled damon, and he couldnt break it. idk, i feel like this kind of foreshadows something-because we all know how tricky tvd producers like to be :P

actually, in the end, reality is he bit elena cuz he was no match for the compulsion so whether he told her to run (like damon told jeremy to do) and he stabbed himself to slow himself down cuz HE couldn’t stop(like damon told jeremy to shoot him cuz he couldn’t stop) he ended up biting elena. facts are facts!! in the end he bit elena and took off and damon stood there waiting for jeremy to shoot but stefan snapped his neck. i am very aware of the details!! NEITHER ONE OF THEM BROKE THROUGH THE COMPULSION so lets not choose to forget elena’s bleeding neck and damon’s broken neck!!

yes, he did bite her no one is denying that. the fact is, that if klaus just simply compelled him like kol did to damon-then stefan wouldnt have hurt elena. but klaus had to compel him MANY, MANY times for stefan to finally give in. stefan fought harder to resist, in my opinion.

@ Anna…yes, you are right, but there is something else that do not “tally”…Stefan was compelled to feed from Elena, the woman he loved and was involved in a serious relationship with…Damon, on the other hand, was compelled to kill Jeremy, Elena’s brother…that is NOT even in the same category…humanity or no humanity, these were two completely different scenarios… I will always wonder what would’ve happened if Damon was compelled to kill Elena…. I guess we’ll never know, but that’s some food for thought…

About Stelena or Delena I want to tell something by point of view of Elena because Stefan or Damon is another subject (because they both love Elena).
Love between Elena (human & teen) and Stefan it was ,,the first sweet love,, (Matt for Elena it was only a dating ,,thing,, in accordance with the ,,rules,, of the school) . She discovered the love with Stefan who was teacher for her in this matter (let`s face it : Stefan it is a guy with +100 years of experience!!!). The love of Stefan will be always ,,the good thing for Elena, the safe thing for her,,. And let`s be honest: in REAL LIFE we ALWAYS CHOOSE the SAFE WAY for US, in order to keep our ,,world,, (family, friend`s, home) intact. When she chose Stefan she was making the chose in order to keep her ,,world,, safe and good for live her ,,dream life,,.
The struggle of Elena to bring back Stefan is in fact the journey of becoming an adult, but here it
was Damon (a guy with +100 years of experience !!!) her teacher in this matter. And a new & different love during this journey it was as sure as fate. Like in REAL LIFE that kind of love is there, growing there, in your heart and your soul, WITHOUT THAT YOU KNOW, TO BE AWARE OF IT. And not always is the right thing for you, like a person of human society (if you relate to the rules of what `s suppose to make in our life: grow, school, family, help for another human …). Stefan isn’t IN LOVE but STILL LOVE Elena . In fact STILL LOVE his brother DAMON.
Where you guys see REVENGE and CRUELTY , I see LOVE and SELF DENIAL.
And because I am Delena`s fan I am STRONGLY BELIVE both of them D&E need in this moment Stefan to be like this – POWERFUL, DETACHED and FOCUSED. My guess : is is only the beginning of this new Stefan.
I think this is the way of the TVD choose by Julie&CO. If I am wrong ….. I don’t know. We will see !!! It will be an interesting journey.

@Ana Yes she is still sired. By setting her free in that episode, he only told her to stay away from him, it did not break the sire bond but with her not around him she would not be near him to do the things he says to do. But she was still obeying him because she stayed away until he told her to go to him in this last episode.

Does anyone know if Elena is still sired to Damon? Because in the “O Come, All Ye Faithful” episode Damon has set Elena free, but then in the yesterday’s (Catch Me If You Can) episode Stefan tells her she can’t visit Damon because she is sired (and would let him out if he asked)?

WTF are you talking about. sure stefan faught like hell against klaus’ compulsion but in the end failed and bit elena..did you forget? as for damon, he faught the compulsion by telling jeremy to run cuz he couldn’t stop or to shoot and kill him when he had the chance. damon was ready to die to save jeremy cuz he knows you can’t break the compulsion. you’re the one sadly not understanding things but hopefully one day you will too!!

No he didn’t fail told Elena to run and didn’t bite her he only bit her after Klaus compelled Stefan to turn off his humanity and there is no way you can resist that so yeah Damon was ready to die but it wasn’t for Elena he told Jeremy to shoot him when they were alone in the caves even before Elena said that she loved him. Both Stefan and Damon fought to break the compulsion. Damon didn’t kill Jeremy and Stefan didn’t bite Elena until after Klaus made him turn off his humanity.

Ha, what an episode!! Honestly it was kinda annoying that elena seemed jealous of stefan hanging out with rebekkah (but can’t wait to see her reaction when she finds out they had sex, we all know rebekkah will rub it in her face) But I absolutely Love Stefan and Rebekkah together!! I do hope Damon and Elena stay together through everything!! I definitely do NOT like shane or bonnie, she is just really annoying to me, even more so than caroline.

You know what guys? According to my mind, I think the 2 brothers should consider 2 choices : whether both of them find other women so that both can be happy or Stefan leaves mystic falls and goes to Katherine and Damon can stay with Elena.
