So sad. Jenni’s family is devastated that footage from the tragic plane crash wreckage is making its rounds online. Some images show severed body parts, including a foot with painted toenails.
Two Mexican police officers, 23 and 24, were arrested after they were allegedly caught leaking images of the crash scene to the media. Now, after video is beginning to surface as well, Jenni Rivera’s family is sharing their disgust.
Jenni’s Family Shares Their Anger Over Leaked Footage
The video has not been confirmed to be authentic, but Jenni’s family believes it to be real based on the items show in the video, as well as the remains, reports TMZ.
“The family is appalled that anyone would even think about leaking something like that and they shudder to think that one of the first responders might be responsible. The severed foot was the most painful part to watch because ‘Jenni was very particular about her feet and toes,’” a source tells the website.
Jenni, who sold 20 million albums worldwide during her career, died in the plane crash on Dec. 9 — she was 43-years-old.
Cause Of Plane Crash Is Still Undetermined
“The plane practically nosedived,” Mexican transportation official Gerardo Ruiz Esparaza said. “The impact must have been terrible.”
The plane fell at a 45-degree angle and landed 1.2 miles from where it ultimately began plummeting. Tragically, the cause of the crash is still unknown.
The 78-year-old pilot of the plane is causing concern for the investigators, but Gerardo says that he had a valid Mexican pilot’s license despite his age.
No emergency call was made before the crash, Alejandro Argudin, head of Mexico’s civil aviation agency, told Radio Formula. He also noted that investigators weren’t sure if the plane contained flight data recorders.
Jenni’s Body Was Identified & Returned To The Family
On Dec. 13, it was reported that Jenni’s remains were identified and her body was returned to the family.
Before tests confirmed finding Jenni’s body, her mother Rosa Saavedra was holding out hope that it wasn’t her in the crash.
“I still trust God that perhaps the body isn’t hers,” Jenni’s mother said in a press conference Dec. 11, believing it could have been another woman’s body at the crash site. “We’re hoping it’s not true, that perhaps someone took her and left another woman there.”
Sadly, it appears to be time for the family to move on and make peace with the situation. However, that may prove difficult with leaked video footage and images surfacing online.
