The Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder, 34, and Nina Dobrev, 23, could not be more adorable! They looked like the perfect couple while shopping for a Christmas tree in Atlanta on December 3. Now, an insider is telling Us Weekly that their relationship is better than ever!

“Nina and Ian are excited to celebrate the holidays together,” an insider tells the magazine.

The pair went to Louisiana to spend Thanksgiving with his family this year. ”It’s a sign they’re taking things to the next level,” the insider adds.

They are living together in Georgia while the film their hit CW show. “There are no obligations but work and living together — their relationship is at its best here!”

Nina spoke to Self magazine for their November 2012 issue on her relationship requirements, saying, ”He has to be a happy person. You’ll laugh and enjoy life more.”

Nina also talked about what she looks for in a boyfriend to the October 2012 issue of Seventeen, “I think people should be with the person who makes them smile. The minute you’re not smiling anymore, you shouldn’t be in the relationship. That’s what you figure out by having good or bad experiences with boyfriends and finding out what qualities you like and don’t like in a person. It’s part of growing up and learning. You should always be with the people who make you feel happiest.”
