Kate’s hair is famous in its own right for its gorgeous warm brown shade and high gloss. Her hairstylist spills the secrets to getting her look!

London-based celebrity hairstylist Richard Ward tells The Daily Mail what it takes to get Kate Middleton‘s color and shine. Grab a pen to jot down his tips and then head straight to your hairstylist!

The exact color Richard uses in his salon are by L’Oreal and Funete Organic.

“These salon professional colours are ultra conditioning and give richness and intensity. The colour ebbs away naturally and you only need to have it re-done every few months,” Richard explains.

Now in terms of achieving Kate’s color, this is just what you need to know:

“Ask your stylist for three different shades of lowlights, one lighter than your natural base colour, one about the same and one slightly darker to create a multi-tonal affect in the same hues. Dying just a few strands of hair in each shade, as opposed to large sections, achieves a more natural look,” says Richard.

Got that? Now onto that shine! Kate has reportedly gotten salon Keratin treatments, but to get the look at home, Richard recommends trying a silk protein mask or an overnight hair mask. Try Fekkai Protein Rx PM Repair Strengthener. It combines the two!

Would you try any of Richard’s tips?
