Emily has been dating David all summer and she thinks he could be ’the one’ a close family friend of Emily’s tells HollywoodLife.com – will this hurt her chances of becoming the next ‘Bachelorette’?
Emily Maynard, 24, definitely has a type: a Nascar boy! HollywoodLife.com has just spoken to a source close to Emily who tells us that she and David Smith, 36, son of billionaire Speedway Motorsports owner Bruton Smith, are officially a couple and their whole town of Charlotte, NC., is talking about it!
“Emily has been spending quite a bit of time with David,” our source says. “She’s with him constantly and she’s gotten really close to his family. Emily thinks that he could be the one.”
We told you back in May that Emily broke up with Bachelor Brad Womack because of David — and it turns out her feelings are stronger than ever. Emily went to David’s sister Anna Lisa‘s wedding on July 30 at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte, and we’ve obtained pics of Emily posing with David’s mom, Bonnie Smith. Our source tells us that Emily has gotten very close with Bonnie, posting things on her Facebook wall like: “looking forward to our walk, hope you had a great weekend.”
“David is a sweetheart,” our source says. “The entire Smith family has been through a lot. David’s sister Anna Lisa was in a horrible drunk driving accident a couple of years back and she almost lost her life, she was never supposed to walk again — it’s a miracle she’s okay. David comes from a very generous and great family, they love Emily.”
Our source goes on to say that Emily and David began dating before she ever went on the Bachelor and that it was one big joke when Brad picked her at the end.
“Emily was head over heels for David before she left to tape the show,” our source says. “Everyone had a big laugh when the world thought she was in love with Brad because we all knew she’d be coming back for David. David knew too, no one was worried, her relationship with Brad was totally fake.”

She should be the next one given the shaft from the show like she’s been doing to the guys one or two at a time. This is shameful. Can’t see how any one in their right mind would do this – appearing in the show as an innocent single mom and pretending that she is falling in love with more than one man as she said in last night’s show. I would give her the BOOT so fast that she wouldn’t been able to SIT for a week.
She is TRASH as far as i’m concerned.

watching a soap opera. Nothing is real, above all the girl

if she’s so in love with this David guy, why on earth is she the new Bachelorette? The point of the show is to find love. If she already has found it, then that defeats the purpose. No normal guy would be ok with his girlfriend going on a dating show not once but TWICE! This story confuses me.

the show is a bad place to find someone to marry, more likely ends up not working. Too many choices mess up the guys or girls heads, like a kid in a candy store, you want it all but can’t have it…. just one and by the time the shows over dizziness has done them in… she would be a good catch if she has no demonds in her life like bad business, Crooked CIA / FBI and a bad family, her hubby died driving a race car and his father is a race car driver and now she has money and why go on this stupid show to find love – trouble from big brother shows happen…. greedy crooks own big busines with much greed in their deadly lives….

If it’s true that she was in love with this gentlemen prior to going on the show, but was acting for publicity, or even to make this guy jealous, that is awful! I really hope she isn’t like that. I know no one is who they seem on TV most of the time, but no one should be played like that either.
