Ramona tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she feels bad about what happened during the renunion, but ‘LuAnn pushed my buttons!’

The Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer is completely embarrassed about how she acted during the reunion part one that aired on July 25. She apologizes in her Bravo blog for her behavior — and tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively how it was wrong that she attacked Countess LuAnn de Lesseps‘ daughter. But Ramon also feels that LuAnn backed her up against a wall!

“The only thing I regret is talking about her daughter,” Ramona confesses to us. But “I think she knows how I feel. LuAnn pushed my buttons. They didn’t show it fully on the show. And I thrashed back and it was impulsive (that makes me Ramona). I’m not a liar, but it was disrespectful for her daughter. She threw me against the wall.”

Ramona felt trapped by LuAnn’s fronts. “The only reason [I acted like that], I thought I was pushed against the wall,” explains Ramona. “Basically a lot of times when you’re making exaggerations about me, I would turn my cheek. I wouldn’t make comment. And you know what? I should have kept my mouth shut. They edited out that she was trying attack me about my parenting skills with Avery. I am embarrassed about it. I am. But you know what, when you’re in that kind of environment, you’re in there for eight hours. They want you to lash out.”

LuAnn is also guilty of verbally insulting Ramona. “The bottom line is that LuAnn is always constantly sending negative digs which she doesn’t even realize it,” reveals Ramona. “She doesn’t even get it.”

But Ramona doesn’t regret commenting on LuAnn’s “open marriage.” “Everyone knows in New York and the Hamptons, we’ve all witnessed having her having an open marriage,” says Ramona. “Everyone knows it. She had an open marriage.”

Ramona’s ally and good friend Sonja Morgan defends Ramona. “It’s always embarrassing when we say something in the heat of the moment, and I know that Ramona would never want to hurt someone’s family,” Sonja tells us. “She has a good heart, it was just rooster war. She would never intentionally hurt someone, it was just the heat of the moment.”

And Sonja agrees that LuAnn provoked Ramona. “LuAnn dared Ramona: ‘What do you have to say about my daughter?’ shares Sonja. “She blurted out part of what she knew. But LuAnn actually challenged and said, ‘What do you know? Tell me.’”

But the reunion was filmed a month ago and as soon as it ended, Ramona and LuAnn came to terms with the situation. “LuAnn and I are friendly,” notes Ramona. “We walked out of the show. As soon as we finished she asked, ‘Can I have a Ramona Pinot Grigio?’ I poured her a glass.”

“We understand each other,” says Ramona. “We accept our weakness, our strengths, we respect each other. Sometimes she hits a low blow, sometimes I hit a low blow, but we moved passed.”
