“On [February 27,] I said ‘yes’ on the top of the Empire State Building,’ Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley revealed on March 9. The Jersey Shore icon shared photos taken of the happy moment when her longtime-boyfriend, Zack Carpinello, popped the question. In the pics, Jenni, 35, and Zack, 26, are kissing while holding champagne glasses, enjoying their new engagement while gazing out over the New York City skyline. Jenni’s tattooed hand now boasted an engagement ring, one with a jewel so big, it probably could have been seen from the Lower East Side.
JWoww had been sitting on the news for a few weeks, but Zack hinted that something was up at the end of February. “Waking up next to you every day is the best part of my life,” he posted on Instagram the day after he proposed. “I love you. Happy birthday my love.” So, who is Zack? Here are a few facts about JWows’ newest fiancé.
While Jenni is 100% Jersey, Zack hails from New York’s capitol region. Born and raised in Bethlehem, New York, Zack graduated from Bethlehem Central High School. But, his dreams were too big for the Hudson Valley. In fact, his professional aspirations would lead him all the way to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.
Zack Carpinello is also known as Zack Clayton, a professional wrestler. He trained for two years at In Your Face Wrestling Academy in Albany, according to Spotlight News, where he first had his professional wrestling match. He refined his skills while training at Johnny Rodz’s Wrestling School in Brooklyn.
“As a small kid watching on TV, it’s always something I looked up to and thought that I could do, and when I got old enough, I actually stopped playing baseball and football — when I got into college, I decided to stop doing that,” Zack said in a June 2020 interview with 411Mania. “And 2014 is when I started wrestling. It’s been about six years, and I love it more every day.”
Zack joined Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in September 2019, at the invitation of his better half. However, All Elite Wrestling fans may recognize him from his appearances on AEW Dark, the pro-wrestling company’s weekly YouTube show. Zack, as his in-ring alter-ego Zack Clayton, has competed on Dark four times, most recently on the Jan. 07 episode (where he lost to Sonny Kiss in a three-minute match, according to CageMatch) Zack was also seen holding back Chris Jericho from challenging Mike Tyson during a March 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT.

“My focus is AEW right now,” he told 411Mania, right after making his AEW debut. “I have my eyes there. Again, it’s something I’m hopeful for … The biggest thing for me is to always be ready because, like that call for AEW, I got the call three days before I had to be there, and if I wasn’t ready to go, then the shot’s gone. So, one thing for me is to literally always, every single day, be ready for any call.”
JWoww and Zack have known each other for many years. He’s the younger brother of one of JoWww’s best friends and actually attended her wedding with Roger Mathews in 2015. The two took their friendship to the next level in early 2019 but faced a major roadblock in October of that year. During an episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Zack got a little too handsy with JWoww’s co-star, Angelina Pivarnick, which caused them to break up temporarily. The two worked their way through it – he apologized profusely to both Jenny and Angelina – and judging by the rock on JWoww’s finger, things couldn’t be better.
As mentioned, Jenni was previously married to Roger Mathews. After three years together, the couple filed for divorce in September 2018. The split resulted in a custody battle over their two children, Meilani, 6, and Greyson, 4, but the former couple has worked out their differences to successfully co-parent their two children.
