The late ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ actor is survived by his three sons along with his wife, Ami Brabson.
Andre Braugher’s memory will live on, thanks to his wife, Ami Brabson, and their three children, John Weasley, Michael and Isaiah Braugher. Although most fans know the late actor from his hit series, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he was a father first and foremost. Andre spoke about his kids during an interview with Variety in 2020, in which he revealed that he’d fly back home to New York every weekend to spend time with his family after filming the show in Los Angeles.
“I’ve got three boys, and I want them to know me as someone other than the guy who takes them to the circus every once in a while,” Andre explained while stressing that he wanted to be present in his sons’ lives rather than prioritize work. “I wanted to be there through the course of their life because I know how important fathers are.”
Andre went on to point out that his wife and their sons were always “too important” to him “not to spend quality time with.”
“I made a choice along the way that Ami and those boys were too important to not spend quantity time with,” the Homicide: Life on the Street alum said. “Both the health crisis and the democracy crisis that we’re going through demonstrate to me that there’s no substance in the bling. The focus on celebrity-ness — it’s not real. So, I just chose, in my own way, to sort of drop out.”
While Andre admitted that his career “could have been larger” if he had “spanned more disciplines: directing, producing, all these other different things,” the time away from his family would have “been at the expense of [his] own life.”

Not much is known about John or his career, as he has maintained a private life away from the spotlight that his late dad worked under.
Andre’s son Michael reportedly attended the highly coveted performing arts school Juilliard in New York City, where he honed his craft and followed in his late father’s footsteps. Per his IMDb page, Michael starred in two episodes of The Gilded Age as Booker T. Washington. His previous acting credit was as a stand-in for the 2017 film Ambition’s Debt.
Not only has Michael starred in film, but he also performed on Broadway in To Kill a Mockingbird, per PEOPLE.
While Michael’s public profile reveals his acting work, not much is publicly known about Isaiah, similar to his brother John.
