A warm welcome! Although Khloe Kardashian will remain in LA while Tristan Thompson begins his new NBA contract with the Celtics, the team is still welcoming her to Boston with open arms. On Thursday, the C’s sent a loaded care package to Khloe’s Calabasas home, addressed to the Good American founder and her daughter, True Thompson, 2. The gift, which Khloe gushed about on Instagram Stories, was an official “welcome to the team” gesture before the start of the NBA season on December 22.
“Khloe & True! Welcome to the team! We wanted to make sure we got you both a starter pack of gear before the season starts,” read a card that came with the package. “Stay healthy and go green! [Love] The Celtics.” The package of goodies included a Celtics teddybear holding a basketball, large and small logo thermos cups, black and green beanie hats, Celtics t-shirts and other green, white and black apparel.
“Thank you so much @celtics!!,” Khloe wrote on top of a photo that showed the package sitting alongside her Christmas tree. “So sweet of you to include True and I!!! Go green,” she added, along with a trio of clover emojis.
Last month, news of Tristan’s free agency move resulted in the NBA champion migrating through the east from Cleveland to Boston. After nine seasons with the Cavaliers, Tristan signed a 2-year, $19 million deal with the Celtics. Once the ink dried, Khloe and more of her famous family celebrated Tristan’s new deal on social media. Alongside a photo of the athlete on a private jet to Boston, Khloe shared a slew of clover emojis in the comments.
After getting acclimated with his new team, Tristan shared a snap of himself flexing in his new Celtics uniform on Instagram. “Congrats @realtristan13 Boston here we come!!!!” Kim Kardashian West wrote under the photoshopped shot. Rob Kardashian, who’s developed a close friendship with Tristan through the years, followed suit, adding, “Let’s go @realtristan13!”
Following news of Tristan’s contract, fans questioned if Khloe plans to move to Boston to co-parent 2-year-old True. HollywoodLife learned that the mother of one will remain in LA for the time being as COVID-19 cases continue to surge. “Khloe’s plan will be to stay in L.A. with True during the pandemic, and Tristan will see them when he can,” a source close to the situation said, explaining that “it’s too early to say how comfortable they’ll feel about visiting frequently.” Right now, the family is celebrating Tristan’s new opportunity and they’re happy for him, the insider added.
As for Khloe and Tristan’s relationship, a separate source told HollywoodLife that he will continue to try and win her back. “He’s adamant that he will continue to fight for her and he will continue to spend all the time he possibly can with her and True,” the insider said, noting that Tristan is dedicated to his family following his public cheating scandal with Jordyn Woods in 2018.
