While coronavirus cases are on the rise nationwide, Reginae Carter went all out for her 22nd birthday on November 29, and finally responded to criticism for her blowout bash in Atlanta. The daughter of rapper Lil Wayne took to her Instagram Story on December 2, posting a screenshot of her negative COVID-19 test results. She also added the caption, “FYI, I take 2 or 3 test[s] a week. For those who are concerned,” she wrote adding two heart-kissing emojis.
This is the first time Reginae has responded to criticism since the November 29 party. Following the bash, Reginae took to Instagram to share a slew of images from her huge get-together. She posted a number of photos, which featured party attendants including Lil Wayne, Reginae’s on-again, off-again boyfriend YFN Lucci, Zonnique Pullins, and many more. She also shared a thank you message to her beau for organizing the event.
“Last night was mad real,” she began her caption to the carousel post. “Thanks to my boyfriend for throwing me this amazing party ! Thanks to my parents for the juvenile and Mannie connect (legendary ) and I wanna thank everybody who came and partied with me ! Y’all some real ones,” she concluded the post, adding a string of photos from her ’90s and early aughts-themed party.

Videos and photos from the night captured the entire party, which was held indoors. There was hardly a single mask in sight, and no social distancing. Reginae faced a lot of criticism for the party, and some took to social media to air their frustrations. “Is corona not in Atlanta?” one person pondered on Twitter. “They was tooooo damn live at Reginae’s birthday party.” Another person took to social media and added, “Reginae party cute and all but all I keep thinking about is COVID.”
In Georgia alone there have been thousands of new cases reported in the last seven days, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Nationwide, there have been over 13.6 million confirmed cases as of December 2. More than 269,000 people have lost their lives due to the virus.
