The Parenthood family bond is a strong one. Miles Heizer, 22, Mae Whitman, 28, and Lauren Graham, 50, had an epic reunion at Lauren’s Gilmore Girls FYC panel in Los Angeles on May 11. Miles and Mae played Lauren’s two kids — Drew and Amber Holt — on the beloved NBC show. Over 6 seasons, this trio made us smile, laugh, and cry all the tears. Miles, Mae, and Lauren didn’t just play a family on TV, they are family.
The show has been off the air for 2 years, and we still miss it. Thankfully, we’ve been seeing Miles, Mae, and Lauren on TV and the big screen a lot lately. Miles is one of the main cast members on Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. He plays Alex Standall on the hit series, which was recently renewed for a second season. Lauren is also staying close to Miles within the Netflix family. She reprised her role as Lorelai Gilmore in the incredible Gilmore Girls revival. Mae’s new series, Good Girls, just got picked up by NBC.
Mae and Miles are the literal definition of best friend goals. Miles lives in Mae’s guest house, and they have an unbreakable bond after playing brother and sister for so long. “I envision wanting to live in a house next to him for my whole life and grow old down the street from him,” she told Glamour in 2014. “I want our families to always be entwined.”
But what about a Parenthood revival? That’s what we all want to see. Well, there’s nothing official in the works yet, but series creator Jason Katims has said that he would love to “revisit” the show when the time is right. The time is always right! Let’s make it happen!
