Sutton Foster, 42, is a new mom! The Younger star and her husband-of-three-years Ted Griffin recently adopted a baby girl, according to People magazine, and they could NOT be happier about finally starting a family together. “They are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their daughter Emily Dale Griffin,” their rep told the publication about the couple’s first child, who was born on Sunday, March 5.
Sutton shared the happy news herself with the audience at her Lincoln Center’s American Songbook performance at Alice Tully Hall on the night of Apr. 14. “Our lives are forever changed, and our hearts are exploding,” the broadway star gushed. How sweet is THAT? And there’s no question Sutton and Ted were more than ready to enter parenthood. After all, just last March, the brunette beauty told People that having children was “definitely on the table.”
Perhaps playing a mom on her hit TV Land show helped inspire her? “It’s almost like the opposite of my character,” she explained. “I’ve really focused on career most of my life and so now I’m transitioning into where my priorities and my ambitions are more personal.” And because Sutton decided to focus more on herself earlier in life, the celeb has never been happier with where she is now.
“I’m happier now. I feel much more comfortable in my skin, my mindset,” the Bunheads alum said during the same interview. “I’ve marinated well; I’m a better quality now than I was.” Congrats again to Sutton and Ted! We could not be happier for the pair.
