1. He was placed on life support after suffering a serious injury.
Tommy Ford‘s wife, Gina Sasso, explains that the actor was rushed to the hospital after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen, according to TMZ. Tommy was initially brought to an Atlanta emergency room on Oct. 9, and his health has been on the decline since. He is not expected to make it through the day.
2. He was supposed to be getting fit and healthy.
Two days before the aneurysm rupture, Tommy revealed that he was doing great in physical therapy following knee replacement surgery. “Working really hard in physical therapy,” he captioned a photo on Instagram, adding, “My progress is amazing.”
3. Martin made a huge splash in the pool of 90’s television.
Martin was a 90’s sitcom that aired from 1992 – 1997 with a total of five seasons. It said it be one of FOX’s highest-rated shows during the sitcom’s run. The hit series also gave Martin Lawrence (who went on to star in House Party and Bad Boys) his start.
4. He designs men’s jewelry.

5. He wants to make a positive change in the world!
Tommy is all about giving back to the community and helping those in need. The actor directed a documentary titled, Through My Lens ATL, which focuses on the LGBTQ community, acceptance, and anti-bulling. Tommy organizes panels known as Commitment Circles where people can come together and open up in a safe environment.
Tommy passed away on Oct. 12, 2016. His family released the following statement, “It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Son, father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykhal Ford. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief.”
