In the set photos, Claire Danes looks absolutely stunning of course, looking a little more stressed than usual for Carrie! That’s probably because in the season five finale of Homeland, it looked like Quinn (Rupert Friend) had died — something we know now is not true. He’s now sporting a dirtier look, and actually appears really different.
“Quinn is alive — I can say that much. But we want to be really careful about revealing what his condition is,” showrunner Alex Gansa told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour this summer. “He suffered a major stroke last season… so he is a very changed and altered Quinn this year… He had a fairly rough ride last season, no doubt about it. Quinn this coming season will really represent a very profound and familiar casualty of the war on terror for our audience. What he endured last year is different from what he’s going through this year [when it comes to Carrie].”
Of course, we don’t know much else about season six, but the show has been picked up for seven and eight as well so we do know it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. For the most part, it moved to New York to be more convenient for Claire Danes and her family, and Alex added that this season will show the city continuing to go through aftermath that New York is still going through from 9/11.
“I think NY is very fertile territory for our story,” Claire said at TCA. “As always, Homeland is charging toward the most compelling event in our culture which happens to be what’s happening in politics right now. It’s being reborn anew. I think people will be engaged.” You have our attention. Are you excited for Homeland to return on Jan. 15?
