Jan Crouch Dead: Televangelist Dies At 78 After Massive Stroke

So sad. Televangelist Jan Crouch, who co-founded the Trinity Broadcasting Network with her husband more than forty years ago, died May 31, just days after she suffered a stroke, her family confirmed in a written statement. Find out all the details here.

Our hearts are breaking right now. Televangelist Jan Crouch tragically died on Tuesday, May 31, just a few days after suffering a stroke. She was only 78 years old — gone way too soon.

Jan co-founded the Trinity Broadcasting Network with her husband more than forty years ago. Her son, Matt Crouch, who is now the President of TBN released the following statement on the establishment’s website:

“Viewers of the Trinity Broadcasting Network knew her as someone who partnered with Paul Crouch in the launch and expansion of TBN, and as someone who came into their homes for over 40 years. To thousands of orphans around the world, and those orphaned in spirit, she was Momma Jan, quick with a smile, a gift, and a word of encouragement.”

Jan and her late husband, Paul Crouch, started the Trinity Broadcasting Network in 1973 by renting air time on an independent California station. TBN, which likes to think of itself as the world’s largest Christian television network, is now carried by over 5,000 television stations.

Last week, the network announced Jan had suffered a stroke. Her husband died in 2013.

Our thoughts go out to Jan’s family and friends during this difficult time.
